Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion are lay parishioners who assist with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass or who bring Holy Communion to the sick and home-bound.
Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion must be fully initiated into the Church with the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Eucharist, be mature in their faith, growth must in their faith express itself with the relationship to the parish, and with a character and way of life that reflects a serious and well-formed faith and moral commitment.
Lectors

The Lord has given me a well-trained tongue, that I may speak to the weary a word that will rouse them”. (Isaiah 50:4) Lectors are referred to as ‘proclaimers’ to emphasize that there is more to the ministry than simply reading the scriptures aloud to the liturgical congregation. We know that God’s word is special so we want to share the special skill that this ministry deserves.

Loving God, All of us need food for the body and for the spirit. In your love for humanity, you sent Jesus to be your love and to teach us how to love, During His ministry on Earth, He fed us body and soul. Now, through His gift of the “Holy Eucharist” He continues to feed and nourish our souls. In the example of Jesus, may we care for one another’s spirit as we share the gift of Christ’s precious body and blood and may we become worthy servants and friends to one another through our ministry.
